With Wimbledon complete, the tennis calendar shifts to the North American hard court season. Over the next several weeks, players will compete in tournaments leading up to the US Open, the final Grand Slam of the year. Hard courts play differently than grass, with a higher and more consistent bounce. That's why this part of the season is often spent getting comfortable on the surface again, improving timing, and getting back to the fundamentals.
One thing you'll notice is that even the top players spend plenty of time working on the basics. Good footwork, consistent groundstrokes, and smart shot selection are still what win points. It's a good reminder that improvement comes from practicing the fundamentals over and over.
At San Diego Tennis Center, we take the same approach in every class. Our Fall Session begins August 17, with programs for kids and adults of all skill levels.
Junior Classes
Our junior program includes Big Hitters, Volleyers, Baseliners, Qualifiers, and Grandslammers, with classes grouped by age and playing experience to help kids build confidence and develop their game.
Adult Classes
Our Adult Intro classes are a great place to learn the game or get back on the court. We also offer Intermediate Clinics and Liveball for players looking to rally more, improve their consistency, and enjoy match play.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are available for kids and adults who want one-on-one instruction or prefer learning in a small group of up to three players.
Registration is now open, and we look forward to seeing new and returning players on the courts this fall.
