Grass court season has arrived, bringing some of the most anticipated tournaments of the tennis year. Events like the Queen's Club Championships help players prepare for Wimbledon, where the world's best compete on the sport's fastest and most unique surface.

Unlike hard courts or clay courts, grass courts produce lower bounces and quicker points. Players rely on strong serves, quick footwork, and the ability to move forward and finish points at the net. Watching the professional tours during this time of year is a great reminder of how important movement, preparation, and consistency can be at every level of tennis.

This year's grass court season has also generated extra excitement with Serena Williams returning to the tennis spotlight. Her success at Wimbledon helped shape an era of the sport and inspired countless players to pick up a racquet. As fans tune in to watch the action unfold, it's a great opportunity to learn from some of the game's best competitors and appreciate the unique skills that grass court tennis demands.

With Wimbledon just around the corner, many players are feeling inspired to spend more time on court this summer. At San Diego Tennis Center, our summer camps, junior tennis programs, and adult tennis classes are currently underway for players of all ages and skill levels. Young players can join age-appropriate classes focused on fundamentals, rallying, and match play, while adults can choose from beginner classes, intermediate programs, drop-in clinics, and private lessons. A few spots remain available in our junior and adult programs this summer, making it a great time to get involved and enjoy more tennis during the season.
