The Middle East swing gave tennis fans a fun stretch of matches on both the ATP Tour and WTA Tour. As coaches, we enjoy watching these early-season tournaments because they give young players something exciting to follow and learn from.

In Doha at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open, Carlos Alcaraz won the men’s singles title. He played with confidence all week and stayed sharp in the final. His movement and shot selection were great examples of strong fundamentals at the highest level.
In Dubai at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, Jessica Pegula captured the women’s singles title. She played steady, disciplined tennis and handled the big points with calm focus.
These tournaments are an important part of the professional tennis season. They help players build rhythm before heading into major events like Indian Wells and Miami. For kids watching at home, it is a reminder that improvement comes from practice, patience, and smart decision-making on court.
If your child has been inspired by the ATP and WTA tours, this is a great time to get started.
Spring registration is now open at San Diego Tennis Center. We offer junior tennis programs and after school tennis classes in San Diego that focus on strong fundamentals, confidence, and enjoying the game. Our San Diego youth tennis classes are open to beginners and experienced players who want to continue improving.
We would love to see your family on court this spring. 🎾
